The word ਸਿੱਖ literally means learner — one who sits at the feet of the Guru and never stops seeking. Gurbani's call to seek, to ask, to grow is not a suggestion; it is written into our very name. A Sikh is defined not by the knowledge they already have, but by their lifelong commitment to learning.

Sikhi is deep. Its history spans five centuries, its scripture holds the voices of the Gurus, the Bhagats, the Bhatts and devoted Gursikhs, and its philosophy speaks to the biggest questions of life. Yet for most people there has never been one welcoming, structured place to learn it — to move from a first question to real understanding.

But something else is breaking too. The writings of the Gurus and the great Gursikhs — penned in Punjabi, Braj Bhasha, Sant Bhasha, Persian, and Sanskrit — are becoming inaccessible to most of our global community. Children grow up in Toronto, London, Auckland, and São Paulo. They want to connect with ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ. They want to read the ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ. But the languages have changed, the scholars are hard to reach, and the gap between the Guru's wisdom and their daily life keeps growing.

Languages drift. Generations lose threads. Community connections thin. But the longing for ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ does not disappear — it just goes unanswered.

We built Sikhi University to answer that longing — a calm, organised home where a curious beginner and a serious scholar are equally welcome.
